In Constantinople, birth for heaven of saint Agapetus I, Pope, who worked vigorously so that the bishops were freely elected by the clergy of the city and respected the dignity of the Church. Sent to Constantinople by Theodoric, King of the Ostrogoths, before Emperor Justinian confessed the Orthodox faith, he ordered Menas as a Bishop of that city and rested in peace. Roman martyrology
