Our Lady of the Pillar
An ancient and revered tradition refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary who in mortal flesh, appeared in Zaragoza on a column or pillar, a visible sign of Her presence, urging the Apostle James in his evangelization of Spanish land. The saintctuary erected in this place is one of the most visited in the Catholic world. Under its patronage began the evangelization of America October 12, 1492.
