  Commemoration of St. Paphnutius, Bishop in Egypt, who was one of those confessors who, in time of Emperor Galerius Maximinus, having them taken out his right eye and the left calf, were sentenced to the mines, and then attending the Council of Nicaea, he fought hard for the Catholic against Arianism faith (s. IV).
