Memory of St. Justin, martyr, who, like the philosopher he was, entirely followed the authentic wisdom known in the truth of Christ, which confirmed his customs, teaching what he was stating and defending with his writings. When he submitted to the Emperor Marcus Aurelius in Rome, his defense for the Christian religion was brought before the prefect Rustic and, by confessing that he was a Christian, was sentenced to the death penalty (c. 165).
