Saint Jeremiah Prophet

Commemoration of St. Jeremiah, Prophet, who lived in the time of Joaquim and Zedekiah, Kings of Judah. He prophesied the ruin of the Holy City and the deportation of the people, suffering many persecutions because of it, so the Church considered it figure of suffering Christ. He also predicted that the new and eternal Alliance would reach its fullness in Jesus Christ himself; Moreover, that, through him, God Father Almighty wrote his law in the hearts of the children of Israel, so that he would be their God and they would be His people.
