Saint Canute Lavard

In the forests near Ringsted, Denmark, saint Canute, surnamed Lavard, martyr, who, made Duke of Schleswig, exercised the power of fair and prudent manner, and favoured the piety of his people. He died assassinated by enemies who rejected his authority. Roman martyrology
