In Florence, city of the Tuscany (today Italy), blessed Villana de Bottis, mother of a family, who, abandoning the worldly life carrying, wore the habit of the Sisters of penance of St. Dominic and distinguished herself by her assiduous meditation of Christ crucified, by the austerity of life and by begging for streets in favour of the poor.
