Saint Lawrence of Brindisi

Saint Lawrence of Brindisi, priest and doctor of the Church, the order of brothers minor Capuchins, tireless preacher by several Nations of Europe, of simple and humble character, faithfully fulfilled all the missions assigned, such as the defense of the Church against the Turks who tried to dominate Europe, the reconciliation of the warring Princes and the Government of his religious order. He died in Lisbon, Portugal, July 22, 1619. Roman martyrology
