In Tarragona, in Hispania, saint Hermenegild, martyr, being son of Liuvigild, Arian King of the Visigoths, was converted to the Catholic faith by saint Leandre, Bishop of Seville, and held in jail by order of his father having refused to receive communion from the hands of an Arian bishop, the day of the feast of Passover was beheaded by order of his own father.
