In Alexandria, in Egypt, saint Epimachus of Pelusio, martyr, who has the tradition that, in times of persecution under the Emperor Detius, seeing as the prefect was forcing Christians to sacrifice to idols, tried to destroy the altar, being immediately arrested, tortured and beheaded (c. 250).
