Saint Catherine of Sweden

March 24th XIV century

In Vastena, in Sweden, Saint Catherine, Virgin, daughter of saint Brigid, who married against their will, with the consent of her spouse she retained the virginity and to widowhood, surrendered to the godly life. Pilgrim in Rome and in the Holy Land, moved the remains of his mother to Sweden and deposited them in the monastery of Vastena, where she took the monastic habit. Roman martyrology
