In Edessa in Osroene (today Turkey), saint Barsimeus, Bishop, who in the time of Emperor Decius was whipped by his faith in Christ, but terminated the persecution and released from prison, he devoted the rest of his life to rule with total delivery the Church which had entrusted (s.
