In Mantua, in Lombardy, transit of saint Anselm, who, being Bishop of Lucca, in the investiture controversy, most faithful to the Rome headquarters, placed in the hands of the Pope [saint Gregory VII]the ring and the crosier which, reluctantly, had received from the hands of the Emperor Henry IV and expelled from the headquarters by the canons who rejected the community life.
