Saint Andrew Apostle

November 30th

Feast of St. Andrew, Apostle, native of Bethsaida, brother of Peter and fisherman like him. He was the first of the disciples of John the Baptist who called the Lord Jesus at Jordan and that followed, bringing with him his brother. Tradition tells that, after Pentecost, he preached the Gospel in Achaia, and that he was crucified in Patras. The Church of Constantinople reveres him as a very distinguished patron (s. I).
